ABOUT INSIGHT SCHOOLS OF CALIFORNIA AND THE INSTRUCTIONAL COACH POSITION: Insight Schools of California (a network of three public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home based-instruction to students in grades 9-12 in California. Insight Schools of California serves at-risk students. We use the K12 curriculum as the basis for instruction, and teachers provide live online instruction via a web conferencing platform. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to maintain daily attendance, attend instructional sessions, and complete their coursework each day. All teachers provide students additional help, individualized attention, and ongoing communication with learning coaches, and all attend professional development meetings (virtual and in person). Insight staff and teachers contribute to a positive school culture by engaging in meaningful team collaboration and focusing on the needs of all students. Teachers also meet with students during testing and at in-person events.
Requirements / Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee instructional coaching for assigned teachers. Approximately 35 teachers. • Complete between 1 and 4 observations and instructional coaching follow-up sessions per teacher per instructional cycle, based upon teacher need. • Utilize an online processing/organization like Google Suite or One Note to script observations, set coaching goals, and develop action plans. • Attend all assigned trainings/professional developments for instructional coaches. • Provide individualized resources and professional development for teachers, grade levels, content area, and/or department. • Provide training and support to teachers who are supporting low performing students • Attend teacher collaboration meetings, as required, to provide teachers with support. • Lead some and attend Data Driven Instruction (DDI) and PLC meetings as assigned. • Review Lesson Plans on DDI trackers and lead trainings on effective lesson planning. • Monitor progress tracker to ensure appropriate instructional session offerings. • Facilitate meetings with Lead Teachers and Academic Advisor to review data and establish action plans and goals. • Other duties as assigned to support department.
HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: Full time work Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:00pm. You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours.
