Job Summary
Definition: Under supervision, operates Food Services van; delivers food and supplies to the elementary, middle and high schools; delivers and dispenses lunches at school sites; picks up food, supplies, equipment, paperwork and money from school sites; assists with the organization and movement of items in storerooms and freezers; collects materials only for recycling; and to do related work as required. Typical Tasks: • Pick up van from bus garage • Fill thermal bags with packed meal components • Reconcile meals delivered with meals ordered • Load van • Make deliveries • Dispense lunches • Pick up cash and sign daily log • Pick up equipment and leftover food from school sites and returns them to kitchen • Clean bags and racks • Maintain cleanliness of van • Report any malfunctions to Vehicular Maintenance • Collect recyclable materials • Operate densifier • Ensure that tools and equipment are properly cleaned, maintained, stored and secured Employment Standards: • Completion of twelfth grade • Possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver’s License • A driving record that meets Palo Alto Unified School District’s insurance requirements
