Job Summary
The Golden Charter Academy is an innovative start-up charter school that opened in Fresno, CA in August 2021. It is a place-based, science-oriented school that emphasizes environmental stewardship, social justice, and equity. The instructional approach employs Universal Design for Learning (UDL), a strategy to provide successful pathways for student success in all learners. GCA has a formal partnership with the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, where students utilize the zoo as a living, educational laboratory.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years of clerical work involving attendance records, including computer work. • Associate degree preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES The following is a list of duties that are representative of the position and include but are not limited to: • Issue admittance and tardy slips to students. • Investigate and clear absences through telephone contacts with parents/guardians, students, and teachers. • Answer inquiries from teachers, parents, school administrators, or other authorities; and give attendance information as required. • Prepare monthly attendance reports for the district showing such items as: total enrollment, new entries, withdrawals, efficiency reports, initiates independent study contracts, special education figures, total days of enrollment, and attendance per student. • Receives all incoming calls relating to attendance. • Makes daily phone calls to parents of daily unexcused absents and tardiness. • Provides the principal with cases of chronic absenteeism, tardiness or truancy. • Issues Attendance letters on a quarterly basis. • Basic First Aid. • Coordinating with the Administrative Assistant to ensure proper functioning of the school office. • Communicating with teachers and parents regarding student attendance, behavior, etc. • Responds to general inquiries regarding office operations, programs, and/or procedures. • Other duties as assigned by the school administration.
