Job Summary
The ECC (Preschool) Teacher supports the Head and Lead Teachers in the implementation of class activities and projects. Teachers engage students in inquiry and exploration and maintain a safe and nurturing environment for students under the guidance of the Head and Lead Teachers.
Requirements / Qualifications
• At least 12 Early Childhood Education units or equivalent; 6 units may be acceptable if actively taking more classes to complete the 12 units • Teachers with less than 12 units have 1 school year to complete, at least 3 units, or will not be offered a position the following year. • At least 3 units of Infant/Toddler Development, if working in infant/toddler program. • Experience working with preschool children in a professional setting is preferred, but not required • Understanding of and commitment to Peregrine School’s mission and philosophy • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels • CPR/First Aid preferred, but not required
