Job Summary

Kearny High School has one full time (1.0 FTE), 11 month position to fill. The Army Instructor is assigned within the high school Army JROTC program. The Army Instructor is directed by the Senior Army Instructor to properly instruct cadets and manage the JROTC unit in accordance with military regulations and district policies and procedures.

Requirements / Qualifications

Ability to obtain JROTC Credential. Must be certified by the United States Army Cadet Command Headquarters and meet eligibility requirements established by the sponsor military service in accordance with public law. Must be a retired Army Non-commissioned Officer E6-E9 or Warrant Officer with no less than 20 years of service. Achieve a passing score on the CBEST and PE CSET exams within 3 years with a waiver to four years with satisfactory progress. Applicants must have a valid California driver’s license and be prepared to conduct, participate in, and travel to sites, professional development sessions, workshops, and meetings.
