Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent/Designee plans, coordinates, implements, and supports emergency preparedness, school safety strategies, law enforcement-based crisis management activities, and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines for the Brawley Elementary School District. Essential duties include school safety assessment, planning, training, emergency response and communication, investigations, coordination with law enforcement and other public agencies, and other school safety-related functions. This position will serve in a leadership capacity for development, training, and implementation of safety plans.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice, Criminology, Sociology, Education or related field • Five (5) years of experience as a sworn law enforcement professional, preferably in assignments that included community engagement and coalition-building, liaison among various entities, and/or support for schools. • Class C Driver’s License is required • Ability to communicate in Spanish (Preferred) Preferred Experience: • POST Certificate • Past work with youth • Community Policing • ICS training • ATAP training • Administrative and criminal investigations • De-escalation training • Cultural competency training • SB390 certification trainer
