Job Summary

Under the direction of an administrator, in the absence of the classroom teacher, provide instruction, encourage student progress and manage the learning environment. Demonstrate professional practices in teaching using the course of student and lesson plan provided by the regular classroom teacher.

Requirements / Qualifications

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Holds or has the ability to obtain a California Teaching Credential or a 30 Day Emergency Substitute Permit. Bachelor's Degree in any subject. Prior experience working in an education setting is preferred. Pass CBEST or equivalent Negative Tuberculosis Clearance Fingerprint Clearance

The Education Code requires that a criminal background check be conducted on all persons prior to employment by a school district to ascertain whether the applicant has been arrested or convicted of any crime. Conviction of certain crimes designated as a "violent felony" or a "serious felony" will disqualify a person from employment.
