Job Summary

Responsibilities: Under the direction and supervision of the Principal, perform a variety of clerical duties and administrative tasks to support the operations of an Elementary school. Position works cooperatively with Elementary School Secretary. Specific Duties Include: Administrative and Clerical: • Perform a wide variety of clerical work including word processing, record keeping, sorting and filing of forms and documents, data processing, receiving and sending mail; • Front office reception, and assistance to students, families and general public; • Post district communications and maintain bulletin boards; • Prepare letters, memos, book lists, bulletins or other requested material; • Assist in the administration of federal testing as assigned (CAASPP) which may include training administrators and proctors, set schedule for testing, and determine test administrators for students with accommodations. Reporting and Maintaining Records: • Prepare transcripts of students’ records; • Assist with and support student Independent Study Contracts; • Maintaining student cum files and the transfer process of these files as required; • Prepare enrollment reports as required by the district; • Maintain private driver forms and evidence of insurance; • Prepare simple statistical reports and perform calculations. Orders and Accounting: • Collect and account for monies received for a variety of school purposes; • Account for daily lunch orders and order breakfast/snacks for afterschool through Food Service; • Prepare stores and purchase orders; • Maintain inventories of office and classroom school supplies, including classroom supplies; • Arrange for bus transportation for field trips; Attendance: • Monitor the daily attendance, absences, and tardiness of students; • Contact teachers as needed to verify absences and tardiness; • Call parents/responsible parties to verify absence information; • Prepare and send truancy notices and tardy lett
