**This is a Career 83% appointment working under K-12 School Academic Calendar year.** The Preuss School is a charter middle and high school dedicated to providing a rigorous college prep education for motivated low-income students who will become the first in their families to graduate from college. As a department within Academic Affairs, The Preuss School also serves as a model school to study and develop best practices in the preparation of underrepresented students for college admission. The Preuss school nurse provides a health service program for students for the evaluation, improvement, and protection of the students and school personnel in accordance with State Law and school policy and procedures. The Preuss School Nurse will interact regularly with students, staff, faculty and parents. The Nurse must be able to counsel students on various health matters at a level that is appropriate and clear for the student. The Nurse may have occasion to consult with a UCSD physician. * Must possess CA Registered Nurse license * Current CPR certification. * Duties will require direct contact with children (defined as individuals under the age of 18); completion of the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) form is required. * FBI/DOJ Live Scan background check required. * Tuberculosis (TB) screening required.
