Job Summary
Under general direction, to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance painting work in protecting and decorating building surfaces; and to do related work as required. Knowledge of: Methods, materials, and equipment used in the painting trade; and proper painting ventilation procedures. Ability to: Mix and match paints; blend, harmonize and contrast colors; correctly apply paints with brush, roller or spray gun; after appropriate training safely use machines, equipment, and tools related to job duties; skillfully use and care for painting tools and equipment; prepare scaffolds and work from them and ladders; use district work order system; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; and work cooperatively with others. Experience: Three years of varied experience in painting work. Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
