Job Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for a Project Specialist, School Counseling for the District and School Improvement department of the Learning and Leadership Services division. The Project Specialist, School Counseling is responsible for providing professional learning for all school counselors, professional development, technical assistance, providing information, and guidance; and implementing and maintaining services within established guidelines and standards. The District and School Improvement department provide innovative, high quality leadership and improvement services that develop systems-thinking districts and schools to ensure equity and access for each and every student, prepared for college and career. This position is full-time and will offer the certificated management benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and will participate in the CalSTRS state retirement system.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major coursework in education, education administration, special education, educational counseling, or related field.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience providing school counseling services including two (2) years as a site/district administrator or school counselor leadership role. Experience must include developing and delivering professional development for educators.

Equivalency: A combination of education and experience equivalent to a master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, with major coursework in education, education administration, special education, educational counseling, or related field, and four (4) years of experience providing school counseling services including two (2) years as a site/district administrator or school counselor leadership role. Experience must include developing and delivering professional development for educators.
Certificates, Licenses, Credentials:
- Valid CA Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Counseling
- Valid CA Driver’s License
