Mandatory Minimum Requirement: * Possess Bachelor's Degree (or higher) AND * Passing status of CBEST/CSET/ACT/SAT or other Basic Skills Requirement set by Commission on Teacher Credentialing. A link to the Basic Skills Requirement on the Commission on Teacher Credentialing website is below under Links Related To This Job, lower right hand corner of this posting. *** Passage of SB 1397 has temporarily waived the Basic Skills Requirement from January 1, 2023, to July 1, 2024. Basic skills proficiency will once again be required for the initial issuance of the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit after July 1, 2024. **The Commission on Teacher Credentialing can only accept course work and degrees completed at regionally accredited institutions: https://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/transcripts/lists/transcripts/regional-accreditation-information Your application will be automatically disqualified if your application is incomplete. PLEASE attach a current resume and anything you feel that is important for us to review. Please clearly identify yourself as a current TVUSD student teacher on the application, by listing the TVUSD school site you are assigned to, the anticipated duration of your student teaching and your mentor teachers name in response to the first question.

If you are selected to move on in the application process, you will be invited by email to attend a substitute orientation. You will be given a specific date and time to attend along with all other necessary information and required forms. On Wednesday, February 21, 2023, the Temecula Valley Unified School District (TVUSD) Governing Board of Education unanimously approved tiered bonuses for eligible certificated substitutes who work at least 25% (45 days) of the school year in TVUSD. Eligible substitutes will receive one bonus based on cumulative days worked in TVUSD during the 2023-2024 school year. At the end of each school year the District will divide each substitute’s total hours worked by 7 hours to determine bonus eligibility. The specific eligibility tiers and bonus amounts are listed below: Days Worked in TVUSD Bonus Criteria Bonus Amount 25%-49% of School Year (45+ Days) $1,000 50%-74% of School Year (90+ Days) $2,000 75%-89% of School Year (135+ Days) $3,000 90%-100% of School Year (162+Day) $4,000 Applications for this job posting will be reviewed after the closing date.
