CLASS TITLE: BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN RANGE: 32A BASIC FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the site principal, Behavior Coach, or School Psychologist, the Behavior Technician will assist behavior support teams in supervision and instruction of students in need or behavior support and socialization training in order to increase the student’s ability to participate and benefit from classroom instruction; assist the team in collecting student data and in implementing appropriate classroom and individual student behavioral plans in order to meet the educational needs of assigned students. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Any combination of experience and training, which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities listed herein. • Completion of two years of college or equivalent. • Two years’ experience working with students. • At least one year of working with students with special needs is preferred. • Specialized training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Positive Behavior Support Systems (PBIS) and data collection strongly desired. • Coursework in psychology, child growth and development, education, special education, or other related field. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • A valid Class C Driver’s License and evidence of appropriate insurance are required. • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate. • TCI Certification (training provided upon hire).
