Position Overview Under the supervision of the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, the Social Justice Manager will provide oversight to all aspects of the Stop Bullying Grant designed to support the Charter Schools’ tiered levels of support and interventions in creating a safe, inclusive, respectful school community and reduce incidents of bullying. Duties Strategic Planning -Reduce disciplinary incidents by at least 25% by providing prevention programming for 1000 students and families at PLN’s three schools. -Develop effective strategies to meet program goals/objectives; monitor program progress and makes recommendations for appropriate corrective action as needed. -In collaboration with Charter School Leadership and School Social Work Manager develop guidelines for responding to incidents of bullying/school violence. Guidelines should align with Restorative Justice Practices and a Relationship Based Approach. -Works with Charter School Staff to ensure bullying incidents are properly entered into Infinite Campus. -Create a bullying incident reporting system that includes an anonymous option. -Review Infinite Campus data with school leadership to track behavior incidents, ensure that reporting is happening with fidelity and support tier 1 interventions. -Carry out mission, vision and values established by President/CEO and Board of Directors. Partnership Management -In collaboration with the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice & Belonging Managing Director, the Social Justice Manager will coordinate and organize external trainings and consultations for Charter School Staff. -Establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with community partners. Social Emotional Wellness Learning -Train 160 TK-8 staff in Human Rights Campaign: Welcoming Schools program. -Engage TK-8 students in MTSS Tier 1 activities to build community. -Engage 20-35 parents per year as leaders in creating safe schools by tra
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Certification Requirements -Master’s degree in Social Work or related field (preferred) and two years of experience, or BA in a related field and additional years of experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to satisfactorily meet the demands of the position. -Three to five years working in a school setting. -A minimum of (3) years of supervision and/or staff capacity building role. -Experience working with low-income, youth and families. -Experience in implementation and oversight of projects/programs. Other Requirements -Strong organization, detail and analytical skills with ability to prioritize work -Ability to prepare and deliver presentations. -Good verbal and writing skills, including a strong grasp on computer programs. -Ability to work in a team environment and provide support to fellow team members -Knowledge, understanding and belief in Relationship Based and Restorative Justice approach. -Must have the ability to nurture respectful relationship with students, parents, and staff. -Ability to work independently, be flexible and dependable, and demonstrate initiative and creativity. -Bilingual preferred.
