The Human Resources Department of Long Beach Community College (LBCC) is seeking a highly qualified candidate in the role of DEIA HR Analyst. This individual will dedicate focus to employee retention programs to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility for all LBCC employees! This position will lead a small team and collaborate with District leadership and shared governance partners in successfully implementing retention program with college-wide impact. Specifically, this position will dedicate focus to retention programs for newly hired employees.

AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION

• Type of position: Full Time (M-F, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm)

• Location: Liberal Art Campus, but will support both campuses

• Salary: Range: MGMT 7 $93,875.00 - $127,906.00 Annually

• Eligibility list: Will be valid for 6 months once approved or ratified by the Personnel Commission. We reserve the right to use the established eligibility list for vacancies in this classification as well as related classifications

• Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Duties

 

GENERAL PURPOSE Under Direction of the Human Resources Manager, coordinates and oversees the implementation of a two-year grant by planning, developing, piloting, implementing, and monitoring Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) focused retention strategies and program campus wide. The DEI HR Analyst will review policies, procedure, and culture of the District in order to identify barriers to DEIA and create educational and system improvements in order to create a more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible organization. Researches, develops and coordinates the development of employee handbooks, welcome guides, supervisorial guides, orientation programs, and mentorship programs from a DEIA lens. Connects with outside entities to review and model best practices in the development of retention programs and performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

 

Bachelor's degree in a field of study that demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity to a multicultural community, or a related field, and three (3) years of progressive experience working in a community college setting, including experience analyzing, making recommendations for and facilitating organizational change related to diversity equity, inclusion and accessibility, equal employment opportunity, or human resources programs. Experience supporting historically underserved populations and people from diverse backgrounds or leading initiatives around diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility strongly preferred.; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.

 

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

 

A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy. Compliance and Accessibility Analyst.

Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.

The following examination segments are pass/fail and may be utilized during the selection process:

 

• screening of the applicant's training, background, and experience

• scored evaluation of responses on a supplemental application/ subject matter expert (SME) review. *** We strongly recommend that you please answer each questions thoroughly. They will be read and scored by SMEs***

• in-person or online:

• written examination(s)

• qualifications appraisal oral examination

• performance examination

• technical oral examination

(the above will be scored on a job-related basis)

 

Test parts are determined by the size and competitiveness of the candidate pool.

 

Only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the examination process. Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations.
