The Paraeducator Independence Facilitator (PIF) - Infant Program assists Special Education Early Childhood teachers, speech-language pathologists, nurses, occupational/physical therapists, and others in providing specialized assistance and intervention services to infants and their families enrolled in the Early Childhood Special Education instructional program.

Requirements / Qualifications

This opportunity is open to all interested candidates. You will be directed to an off-site application once you select CLICK HERE TO APPLY OFFSITE. There are currently four (3) positions available at Alcott Elementary - located at 4680 Hidalgo Ave San Diego 92117 PIF - Infant Program positions work 35 hours per week, 10 months per year. Positions 20 hours per week or more qualify for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employees and eligible dependents. The starting hourly rate is $22.41 per hour. You must be available to work Monday-Friday in person. The shift time is offered within the school bell schedule. The Paraeducator Independence Facilitator - Infant Program will be paid on the PARA Salary Schedule. Salary Grade: 32.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma/GED and a passing score on the San Diego Unified School District Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) or Associate's degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university. Completion of post high school courses in Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or related field is desirable. One (1) year of related or equivalent paid infant/toddler childcare experience in a home, facility or school classroom is required. A related degree may be substituted for the experience requirement. Completion of post-high school courses in Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, or Special Education is desirable. LICENSING AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Maintain district Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation training. Possession of a valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation may be required for designated positions that require the transportation of students (mileage expense allowance provided). Individuals employed in this job class may be required to qualify for a food service safety certification.
