Job Summary

Unity MCHS was founded in 2015 as an independent charter middle college high school. The mission of Unity is to prepare all students, especially those who are at-risk and underserved for four-year university success, leading to professional careers through a blended high school and college curriculum. Unity Middle College High School (Unity MCHS) achieves this mission by offering in-depth learning experiences, dual enrollment and early college experiences, and differentiated support through a nurturing, family-based school culture. Unity MCHS is structured on the Middle College National Consortium Design Principles with career pathways available to all students. Unity MCHS career pathways will provide students with high school and college courses, internships, and hands-on experience directly aligned to each student’s career pathway of choice and post-secondary plans. Description and Responsibilities -Teach designated ELD to small group classes differentiated by ELD level; -Assist in administering ELPAC testing; -Collaborate with the site principal and teachers to ensure that professional development and intervention services meet the needs of multilingual learners; -Regularly visit classrooms to ensure successful EL supports are embedded in both instruction and student assessment, as well as the implementation of ELD goals for individual students -Analyze English Learner data to identify targeted instructional groups to inform program direction and instructional decisions. Qualifications: -Possess California Teaching Credential, BCC/BCLAD Preferred; (Preference would be to support English Learners while also being able to teach another subject if needed) -Be bilingual in Spanish and English; -Be familiar with the ELPAC and administration expectations -Demonstrate expertise in language acquisition and culturally responsive pedagogy; -Successful experience teaching Multilingual Learners; -Effectively communicate with students, parents
