BASIC FUNCTION: The Groundskeeper is responsible for performing general maintenance, including the installation and repair of irrigation systems, and gardening work at assigned school site(s) for District. . The Groundskeeper works closely with specific staff to perform a variety of general grounds, gardening, installation and maintenance duties in the upkeep of assigned site(s) and related areas.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Plant, cultivate, prune, shape, trim and water trees, shrubs, hedges and plants
fertilize, water, mow, edge and care for lawns
Operate hand and power tools and equipment including power mowers, edgers,trimmers, blowers and other grounds maintenance equipment/tools
Use hand tools to work soil and to remove weeds, undergrowth and debris from school grounds and landscape areas
Keep school grounds clean; operate backpack blower, sweeps walks, and pickup paper, rubbish and other debris
Hoe and rake weeds, leaves, grass clippings
Assist in the installation, maintenance and repair of sprinklers and sprinkler systems as assigned
Driver a pickup truck, tractor and/or flare mower, as assigned
