Provides an educational program for three to four-year-old students in the preschool program under the supervision of the Director of Head Start Child Development Director; and performs other related work as required.

Under the supervision of the Head Start State-Preschool/Children's Center Director, provides an educational program following Federal and State Guidelines, CMR Standards for preschool students.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide experiences that develop wholesome, healthful attitudes and habits, including physical fitness.
• Provide a program, which promotes the development of social, emotional and academic concepts and skills.
• Conduct a classroom that includes both indoor and outdoor activities.
• Encourage dramatic, creative, imaginative and spontaneous play as learning procedures.
• Work toward the promotion of feelings of self-worth and a positive attitude toward school and community.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Non-Instructional Duties:
• Plan daily.
• Select and develop materials for use in learning activities.
• Maintain observation and anecdotal records for individual children.
• Identify children's needs and prepare individual development plans.
• Keep accurate attendance records.
• Plan and coordinate activities.
• Counsel informally with children.
• Communicate with parents through a variety of means.
• Participate in school-community organizations.
• Maintain professional competency.
Duties Related to Maintenance and Control and Learning Environment:
• Supervise pupil activities.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve effective environment for learning.
Requirements / Qualifications
BA or BS Degree in Early Childhood Education (including 24 units of Early Childhood Education) Current Resume Two letters of recommendation (within the last 2 years) Credential or Permit, California Child Development Teacher Permit (CCDP) Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certificate. All required documents must be submitted with the application to be considered. A maximum of two years of experience will be credited for placement on the Head Start Certificated Salary Schedule.
Desired Qualifications: • Bilingual ability (Spanish\English). • Computer literate
