About the Employer

The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. Job Summary

The Educational Services Division is dedicated to supporting professional learning for Orange County school districts. Through the collective capacity, Educational Services provides high quality and sustainable professional learning that enhances the professional capital of the community we serve. We provide multi-tiered system of support to the Orange County community that focus on academic, behavioral, and social success for all learners through: Professional Learning, Technical Assistance, Tools and Resources. The Orange County Department of Education and the Educational Services Division is currently recruiting for an Administrator, Mental Health Services. This position will lead mental health reform efforts and support in Orange County schools by managing, supervising, planning, and coordinating activities and operations within Educational Services. The Administrator will spearhead collaborative efforts to transform mental health services and supports for students by coordinating assigned activities with other units, divisions, outside agencies, and the community. This forward-thinking leader will provide highly responsible and complex assistance to the program Director in developing and implementing innovative mental health programs, services, professional learning, and resources. The Administrator, Mental Health Services will play a pivotal role in establishing Orange County as a model for data-driven, equitable, and comprehensive mental health practices that enable all students to thrive.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible educational experience including two (2) years of administrative service in a public-school setting. • Master’s Degree with major course work in education, education administration, behavior management or a related field and five (5) years of increasingly responsible educational experience including two years of administrative service in a public-school setting. Licenses, Certificates, and Special Requirements: • A valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential (School Counselor, School Psychologist, or School Social Worker) • A Valid California Administrative Credential • Optional, but desirable: LPCC, LCSW, LMFT
