Job Summary
The Supplemental Support Specialist is assigned to work with principals, teachers, other staff and parents at all schools to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the supplemental support program for At-Risk or EL unduplicated students. The responsibilities listed are typical, but not exclusive: • Facilitate curriculum development and implementation, to ensure equal access by all students. • Review and recommend instructional materials. • Facilitate IEP and SST meetings. • Assist classroom teacher with IEP and SST implementation. • Conduct or coordinate professional development activities for classroom teachers and other staff working with identified students. • Model effective instructional strategies for supplemental program students and staff. • Provide classroom training, consulting, and other assistance to site staff. • Explain and interpret programs to parents. • Design involvement opportunities for parents, including required parent meetings and committees. • Assist classroom teacher with frequent progress monitoring of students at all sites.

THE POSITION

RESPONSIBLE TO Educational Support Services Director
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

- Assist classroom teacher with IEP and SST implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE
- Three or more years of classroom teaching.
- Valid California State Teaching Credential with CLAD, BCLAD, or equivalent preferred.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Significant education and experience in supplemental program implementation.
WORK YEAR: 185 Days
SALARY: Teacher Salary Schedule “A”
BOARD APPROVAL: June 17, 2014

Valid CA or out of state credential. English Language Authorization ELA1, ELAE, CLAD or CCSD/SDAIE required. Autism (AAAS) authorization required.
