Job Summary
Under the direction of the Principal, perform a variety of technical library duties in the acquisition, circulation, maintenance and distribution of books and instructional materials at an assigned elementary school; assist students and teachers in the selection, location and use of library materials and equipment.

Education and Experience: • Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years’ library media experience. • Incumbents must meet requirements specified under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Special Qualifications upon hire for positions at a school site that is supported by Title I funds include: o Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education OR o Obtained an associate’s or higher degree (college level) OR o Met (pass) a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and mathematics. Licenses and other Requirements: • Valid Library Technology Program Certificate issued by an authorized agency. **If applicants do not meet the minimum requirements for a Library Tech I, they would be considered for the position as an 8-hour-per-day Library Clerk I, at Range 15 ($17.07-$21.83) with the contingency for continued employment: Employee must sign a written agreement to complete 22 designated college units towards the Library Technology Program Certificate within the first three years of employment. The first screening of applicants will occur on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 with interviews scheduled for Friday, September 22, 2023. This position is open until filled; however, candidates are encouraged to apply early in the process for optimal consideration.
