As one of two middle schools in Redondo Beach, the Adams Middle School community takes pride in its diversity and the excellent education program it offers its students. The Adams mission is to provide challenging and rigorous curriculum in a safe and positive environment where students can flourish. The parents, students, faculty and support staff at Adams Middle School are committed to the pursuit of excellence in all curricular endeavors, as well as the cultivation of individual student abilities while fostering citizenship in an empowering, healthy, and supportive environment. This position includes a generous health benefit package; 210 work days per fiscal year; contributions towards the California State Teachers' Retirement System; $1,000 stipend for a doctorate degree. Interviews will be held on Thurs. September 7 for the first round, and on Friday, September 8 for the second round.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Applicant must hold a valid California Administrative Services Credential • Proactively and authentically connect with students, staff, and parents throughout the school day and during extracurricular activities • Prioritize duties, assignments, and projects based upon deadlines and situational circumstances • Stay current with the most relevant and research-based topics related to education and leadership • Equity focused and puts students first • Organize, coordinate, and administer programs and activities related to curriculum and instruction at the school • Evaluate staff throughout the school year via formal and informal observations and meetings • Communicate effectively and concisely (oral and written) • Think critically and outside the box (innovative mindset) • Handle stressful and demanding situations with poise and patience (growth mindset) • Model humor and compassion when appropriate • Handle criticism and self-reflect/evaluate on a regular basis • Assist the principal with administrative duties involving student conduct, curriculum development, instructional practices, and school plant operations as assigned • Analyze situations, both individually and as a team, and adopt an effective course of action • Can Execute! Can Close!
