The Poway Unified School District is seeking applications for the 2023-2024 school year for a Boys Varsity Lacrosse Coaching Position at Mt. Carmel High School.

Coaching duties: • Head coach is responsible for supervising student athletes and working with school leadership and coaching staff of organized sports. • Experience with high school and/or higher-level athletics and students • Instruct student-athletes in the rules, regulations, equipment, and technique of the specific sport • Supervise players during practice and competition • Evaluate players’ skills and maintain fairness to all student-athletes • Collaborate with coaching staff to determine game strategy and practice plans • Maintain student-athlete roster and submit list as directed • Follow established procedures and protocols in the event of an athlete’s injury or other emergency • Model good sportsmanship and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, parents, officials, spectators and school staff • Maintain equipment, facilities, and playing field in orderly condition • Distribute and collect equipment, supplies, and uniforms to student-athletes as directed • Attend regular school and sports program meetings and collaborate with school staff • Submit regular reports on team status • Participate in special events to include parents’ night, banquets and award nights • Pursue growth and sustainability efforts such as recruitment and new team development as directed • Report any issues within team or with specific student-athletes to Athletic Director or Administrator
