The Torrance Unified School District consists of 17 elementary, 8 middle, 4 high schools, 1 continuation, and 1 alternative high school. The District also has 3 adult school campuses. Torrance Unified was established in 1947 and unified in 1948, and is nestled in the heart of the South Bay, in the southwestern part of Los Angeles County. Our District is bordered by the Palos Verdes Peninsula on the south, the beach cities - Redondo, Hermosa, and Manhattan Beach - to the west, and the cities of Lawndale and Hawthorne to the north. Speech & Language Pathologist to work full-time. Most students are language delayed and/or autistic. Group and individual sessions, plus team consultation are the models for delivery of service.Must hold a California credential authorizing service as a Remedial Speech Specialist, i.e., the Exceptional Child-Speech Hearing Credential, Standard Credential with specialization in the Speech and Hearing Service, Restricted Speech Hearing Credential, or Clinical Services Rehabilitation Credential. Must hold a baccalaureate degree with a major or specialized training in speech and language; a master’s degree in speech pathology or a closely related field is highly desirable

Requirements / Qualifications

Must have a valid California Speech-Language Pathology Services or Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential. Must hold a Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from a regionally accredited college or university. CBEST (or other qualifying basic skills requirement as outlined by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing) is required

  • Copy of Transcript (official or unofficial)
  • Credential Copy (Detailed printout of CA credential w/expiration date, document number and listed authorizations.)
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two letters of recommendation written within the last year. (One should be from most current employer if possible)
  • Resume
  • Test Results/Materials (CBEST)
