Recess and Yard Outdoor Supervisor CLCS is looking to hire a warm and joyful person to work with our elementary school (K-6) learners. This is a full-time position. Candidates will possess the ability to collaborate with colleagues to best support our learners and keep them safe. Our personnel are excited to work in a diverse community and who celebrate differences in culture, background, learning style and thought process. JOB DESCRIPTION

Campus Supervisor

Under the general supervision of the Lead Facilitator, the Campus Supervisor will facilitate campus sweeps, support our hot lunch program, perform yard supervision during lunch and work with learners as an after school supervisor.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

  • Take responsibility for the general upkeep of the Center by working with learners to take responsibility for the learning space.
  • Supervise learners, with first priority in their safety, at all times following our JC policies.
  • Collaborate daily with leadership learners to ensure they are fulfilling responsibilities assigned to them but Leadership.
  • Supervise the Center daily until 4:00pm. Ensure windows are closed and the center is ready for the following day.
  • Participate and encourage positive participation of all learners in daily activities and events.
  • Instruct learners on the safe and proper use of technology and equipment.
  • Perform campus sweeps to ensure learner safety. This includes but is not limited to restrooms, outback and the neighborhood donut shop.
  • Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facilities and equipment.
  • Inspect the school site and the equipment for potential safety hazards; taking corrective action to prevent injuries.
  • Interact professionally and appropriately with parents, facilitators and school staff.
  • Participate in school site staff meetings when appropriate and on-going training opportunities.
  • Receive, inventory and facilitate daily lunch service.
  • Train parent volunteers on lunch serving and supervision responsibilities.
  • Report unsafe behavior of children to facilitators and Lead facilitators.
  • Comply with all ACLC Community Learning Center policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  

Education and Experience 

  • Must have High School diploma or its equivalent
  • Must have TB clearance within last four years
  • Must have Fingerprint Clearance

 

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  

  • Knowledge of current Alameda traffic laws and emergency procedures.
  • Moderate responsibility for the care, condition and use of materials, equipment, and tools; great responsibility for the use of discretion and independent judgment in the safety of children.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, using proper grammar and spelling; ability to follow written and verbal instructions; ability to work effectively with children, parents, and school employees.
  • Ability to interface with the Alameda Police Department (APD) in the case of egregious disregard of learner safety perpetuated by community members; including but not limited to being able to provide APD with descriptions of offenders, their vehicles when appropriate.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT  

Regular and prompt attendance is essential; mental effort is required daily; job is performed outside and is subject to exposure to the elements: heat, cold, and wet conditions; job involves walking and standing for long periods of time; constant seeing and hearing are required to fulfill job responsibilities; performance of duties involves exposure to environmental and/or potential physical hazards.
