Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Valid California Multiple Subject Credential & English Learner Authorization AND one of the following: - At least 24 units in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, or both - Professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool age children comparable to the 24 units of education described in bullet 1 (comparability determined by the local employing agency) - Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing • Intern Eligible candidates may be considered • Individuals working on their credential may be considered Emergency Transitional Kindergarten Permit Requirements: - Possession of a BA degree or higher from a regionally-accredited college or university - Possession of a valid Child Development Teacher Permit or higher level - Satisfaction of one of the following: a. 24 semester units of coursework in the filed of Child Development (CD) or Early Childhood Education (ECE) b. Possession of a BA or higher degree in CD, ECE, or similar major c. Have three or more years of full-time teaching experience in a transitional kindergarten setting, preschool age early childhood or child development program, or a combination of these experiences Online Application Attachments: Interested applicants are required to submit an EDJOIN online application and the following attachments: (Please submit only the required documents listed below) • Copy of teaching credential & EL authorization • Or, University verification letter of Internship Eligibility • Or, Verification of program in progress and transcripts • Letter of Interest & Resume’ NOTE: Application packet must be complete at time of submission.
