Los Angeles Unified School District is seeking an accomplished professional with extensive experience and an outstanding career in law enforcement and public safety plus a strong commitment to honesty and integrity, to lead the nation’s largest school police department, the Los Angeles School Police Department. The Chief of Police will oversee the diverse safety and security needs of the LAUSD school community within the vast LA City and surrounding communities within the greater Los Angeles area. He/she will be responsible for all police functions on LAUSD school campuses and oversee a $58 million budget. This position is considered part of the District’s senior management team. General direction is received from the Superintendent of Schools. General supervision is exercised over the Deputy Chief of Police and lower-ranking School Police Department personnel.
