Job Summary

Hoover High School has one full-time (1.0 FTE), 10-month project resource teacher vacancy. This position is responsible for supporting the effective and systematic implementation of Restorative Justice Practices (RJP), Hoover High developed Tiered Behavioral Support System, and peer mediation within a high school setting, in collaboration with school administrators, students, families, community partners, certificated, and classified personnel to promote positive school climate and culture. This is a REPOST of the September 2023. Candidates who have already applied do not need to re-apply (the previously submitted application will be active for this recruitment).

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have: (1) a valid California Multiple Subjects or Single Subjects Teaching Credential, (2) experience supporting the implementation of RJPs within schools, (3) experience collaborating with school personnel, families and students or, AND (4) a minimum of three years recent teaching experience. Experience with RJP and its effectiveness in enhancing California Education Code for creating positive school environments, promoting Social Emotional Learning, and preventing exclusionary practices is highly preferred. Knowledge of application of social-emotional skills, Ethnic Studies, culturally sustaining pedagogy and trauma-informed approaches within coaching / support with teachers as needed. Experience in the delivery of professional development, youth empowerment/advocacy, and understanding of Culturally Responsive Practices in supporting students is highly preferred. Proven record of working with student services and instructional teams effectively is highly desirable. Equity and Restorative Justice practitioner experience preferred. Credential must be registered with the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing by the closing date of the application deadline. Applicants must have a valid California driver's license and be prepared to conduct, participate in, and travel to sites, professional development sessions, workshops, and meetings.
