- Knowledge of and ability to implement the subject matter, philosophical, social, and educational concepts relative to the duties and responsibilities listed on this job description
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
- Develop and administer the instrumental music budget
- Select and order music and other related items for the music library
- Maintain an inventory of all music and related instructional items in the music library
- Plan and direct the selection, ordering, issuing, inventorying, storing and maintenance of musical instruments and uniforms
- Audition and select pupils for participation in performing instrumental classes
- Work cooperatively with other members of the Performing Arts Department for the production of music events
- Coordinate and work cooperatively with the advisors of the auxiliary groups
- Coordinate the work of parent booster clubs and volunteers
- Coordinate and develop master schedule for performances and rehearsals of the instrumental and auxiliary groups
- Coordinate and assist in the preparation of students for auditions to regional and state honor group participation
- Coordinate and arrange transportation of all off-campus activities
- Coordinate and supervise student groups at public performances
- Under the general direction of the principal, assumes the complete responsibility for directing and teaching all classes offered in Instrumental Music, Music Theory, and directing the activities of one or more performing instrumental groups which may include concert band, jazz band, marching band, and orchestra
- Teaches skills in music appreciation, harmony, and explorations in choral music (chorus, choir, choral ensemble)

Appropriate California Single Subject Credential authorizing service in Music or Added Authorization in Music **Required** EL Authorization (CLAD, EL1, ELAM, or BCLAD accepted) **Required** Letter of Introduction Resume Letter(s) of Recommendation (x3) (required documents must be forwarded with your on-line application prior to the posting close date) **If you do not have a posted credential please attach a letter that states you are currently enrolled in a program, and list your expected graduation date **
