Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Math Teacher to join our dynamic educational team for the upcoming 25-26 school year. Encinitas Country Day is a private school that infuses a Montessori hybrid educational model into its curriculum. As our math teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students and helping them develop a strong foundation in mathematics. You will have the opportunity to inspire a love for math, foster critical thinking skills, and cultivate problem-solving abilities in our middle school students. You will be working closely with 4 other professional middle school teachers so being a team player and respectful collaborator is necessary.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Teaching certification or license in middle school mathematics (state-specific requirements may apply). Previous teaching experience in a middle school setting is desirable. Strong knowledge of middle school math curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment methods. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues. Ability to inspire enthusiasm and engage students in the learning process. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse classroom effectively. Proficiency in using technology and educational software for instructional purposes.

Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards. Create a well-rounded math program that covers essential topics, including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability.
Classroom Instruction: Deliver effective and interactive math lessons to students using various teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, group activities, and hands-on experiences. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and student engagement.
Assessments and Grading: Regularly evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, including tests, quizzes, projects, and homework assignments. Provide constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians to support individual growth and improvement.
Individualized Instruction: Identify students' strengths and weaknesses in math and develop strategies to address their individual learning needs. Provide extra assistance or advanced challenges to students as necessary to ensure academic success and growth for all learners.
Classroom Management: Establish clear expectations for behavior and maintain a well-disciplined classroom environment conducive to learning. Manage student behavior effectively and implement appropriate interventions when necessary.
Parent Communication: Foster open and effective communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on student progress, discussing any concerns, and encouraging parental involvement in their child's math education.
Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest teaching techniques, educational trends, and advancements in math instruction. Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and seminars to enhance teaching skills and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the math curriculum.
