Job Summary
This teaching position is for a Necessary Small School opening for the 2023-2024 school year for El Portal Elementary (50-60 students) located in the beautiful, forested community of El Portal, California. El Portal is a small town in the Merced River canyon fifteen miles west of Yosemite Valley and thirty miles east of Mariposa. This location provides amazing outdoor learning opportunities for the students of our Necessary Small School. Curriculum and instruction are driven by district-adopted academic standards. Instruction is often theme-based, with strong science, visual, and performing arts components. Physical education includes learning to swim, ski, hike in the mountains and play tennis. Parents and our Yosemite National Park partners contribute to the rich learning environment. This position are part of the Certificated Teacher Unit at MCUSD/MCOE and will be placed depending on experience and education on the Certificated Teacher Employee Salary schedule.
