Job Summary

Job Summary

Under general supervision, plan, organize, and coordinate the cooking and menu execution functions in a central kitchen operation; receive, and store food, and supplies; maintain records and prepare reports concerning execution of menu production in a central kitchen food service operation; train and lead execution of menu production by assigned food service staff; perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in quantity food preparation, service, and facility maintenance in a commercial, institutional, or school food facility setting, including one year in a lead capacity. Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Attach any documents that you feel will help demonstrate that you meet the minimum qualifications listed above (i.e. resume, transcript, diploma). Documents you wish to attach should be uploaded via EDJOIN by the filing deadline in order to be considered in the hiring process (pertains to current employees also). A scanner to upload required documents is available in the Human Resources office located at 1330 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301. •The documents will be scanned and emailed to the candidate. Examinations will be weighted 30% for written and 70% for oral. Candidates must obtain a composite score of 70% or better to qualify for the eligibility list. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator’s license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
