The ABC Unified School District is known throughout the State of California as a leader in educational planning and innovation. The ABC Unified School District includes nineteen elementary schools, five middle schools, three comprehensive high schools, a college prep 7-12 school, a continuation high school, infant/children centers, extended-day care, and adult school.
Requirements / Qualifications
Directly responsible to the Director of Child Development and Special Programs. Responsibilities include: *Coordinate the administration of AVID at both elementary and middle/high schools. Plan and facilitate meetings, work with site coordinators, compile data, complete and submit reports, lead professional learning, and participate in site visits to support the implementation and monitoring of the AVID Coaching and Certification instrument. *Assist with administering the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC), including initial testing at the Language Assessment Center, and other local/district assessments. *Assist with parent meetings, including the District English Language Advisory Committee (DELAC), English Learner Local Control Accountability Plan Advisory Committee, Parent Advisory *Committee, and Parent Orientation workshops at the Language Assessment Center *Support the English Learner Program Designee group in disseminating information on English Language Development (ELD) policies and requirements *Assist the Director of Child Development and Special Programs with Federal Programs reporting, compliance and School Plans for Student Achievement (SPSA). *Attend State and Federal Program meetings at the Los Angeles County Office of Education and other locations. *Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, for the purpose of presentations and notifications of program knowledge and expectations, and professional learning objectives Other duties as assigned CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credential or Single Subject Credential with CLAD Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience Desirable: Administrative Credential Desirable: Ability to communicate in Spanish
