Job Summary

Job Summary

Under general direction, performs a variety of technical and specialized functions in the placement and payroll process or qualified substitute employees within the district; perform a wide variety of general office clerical tasks; and perform other related duties as required. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: 1. Assists in the continual hiring of classified substitute personnel and temporary employees. 2. Maintains and operates the district’s automated substitute calling system; responsible for all functions/responsibilities of the system. 3. Responsible for all duties as required in the payroll/personnel functions of all substitutes and temporary personnel. 4. Assists in training department and school site personnel with the use of the district’s substitute system and maintenance and verification of substitute hours worked. 5. Reviews all department and school sites substitute reports to make corrections, adjustments and check for accuracy of work performed and submit to payroll department for processing. 6. Updates personal employee information, job assignments/positions, working schedules, bell schedules changes and calendar work year tracts in the district’s automated substitute system. 7. Prepares and distributes substitute handbooks as required; provides in-service training to all new personnel in relation to the district’s automated substitute calling system. 8. Provides current substitutes with on-going assistance on as-needed basis. 9. Assists department and sites management personnel with the selection and assignment of substitutes and temporary personnel. 10. Maintains appropriate records concerning employee absences and follow up to determine continued need for substitutes and temporary personnel. 11. Prepares reports of filled and unfilled jobs, vacancies, temporary services, and other reports. 12. Process classified substitute unemployment claims. 13. Monitors and maintains the classified substitute pool of employees in compliance with Tuberculosis
