Job Summary

The Lincoln High School has one full-time (1.0 FTE), 10-month vacancy. This position is responsible for the school-wide implementation of Restorative Practices at Lincoln High School. Restorative Practices uses the tool of sitting in circle to build community and respond to harm and conflict on school campuses. This practice serves as an alternative to punitive discipline policies such as detention and suspension. School-wide implementation responsibilities involve: Building positive relationships with students, parents, school staff and administrators; Planning and implementing regular community building circles; Organizing and leading RJ harm/conflict circles in response to disciplinary incidents; Managing the follow up of harm/conflict circles; Making referrals for students to outside services; Leading ongoing professional development trainings for school staff in Restorative Justice; Organizing student activities to promote restorative justice; In conjunction with school administration, leading the Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support Team / Restorative Justice Task Force and monitoring the Rubric of Implementation for the SDUSD Restorative Discipline Policy; Supervise students before, during and after school; Communication and reporting to direct supervisor.

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have: (1) A valid California School Counselor (PPS), (2) Three or more years of experience as a Restorative Practitioner preferred. Credential must be registered with the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing by the closing date of the application deadline. Applicants must have a valid California driver's license and be prepared to conduct, participate in, and travel to sites, professional development sessions, workshops, and meetings.
