General Description
Under the direction of the Director, Marketing and Public Relations/Public Information Officer, the Marketing Media Specialist will provide original media, photography, graphics, and social media support to the District; utilize industry standard software and equipment to produce and edit copy media content that is publication, print or video ready; schedule, coordinate, and produce optimized content and graphics for the District website; support District departments, programs, and services with video, photo and graphic materials; serve as the District's liaison regarding graphic design for projects fabricated by outside vendors.
This is a full-time, 12-month position.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Initial placement is at $72,259.

Job Duties
Job duties of the Marketing Media Specialist include:
• Responsible for video, photo, and content including student, College, and community constituent stories.
• Collaborate with Marketing staff to create printed and digital materials, Digital Board content creation, template creation, and support District-wide requests for content (i.e.: Marquee, athletic game content, and other digital spaces).
• Create video content for social media platforms.
• Support in sharing information on social platform for college events, COS Calendar, and other digital spaces.
• Collaborate with Marketing and other college staff for photo, video, and media support as needed.
• Works with all College departments throughout the District to create original marketing campaigns for both print and digital use.
• Collaborate within the District to deliver design solutions that elevate the COS brand through digital storytelling.
• Create custom marking content for online media platforms to support the District and other initiatives.
• Screen content to determine the best outcomes for advance promotion, live engagement and continuity.
• College website edits as needed.
• Support Marketing team with live event media coverage and studio work.
• Utilize District's integrated software in performing the required duties of the position.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience):
Any combination equivalent to:
• Two years of college-level course work in a related field AND
• Three-year's experience with videography, photography and graphic design.
Desirable Qualification:
• Bachelor's Degree in related field.

Knowledge and Abilities
The hiring committee is seeking evidence of the following:
Knowledge of:
• Intermediate-level Photography, Videography, and Graphic Design
• Adobe Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, Illustrator, etc.)
• File management
• Copy Writing and Editing
• Website editing experience
• Closed Captioning
• Social Media platforms
• Layout, design skills and techniques.
• Basic research methods.
• Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
• Technical aspects of field of specialty
Ability to:
• Provide graphic, photo, and video support to District faculty, staff, and leaders.
• Work with a variety of COS students with different socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Work closely with the District faculty, staff, students and the public.
• Communicate effectively and professionally via email and face to face with District faculty, staff, and students.
• Create and manage complex and time-sensitive projects.
• Maintain a calendar of District activities and produce photography, videography, or graphics in a timely manner to meet scheduled deadlines.
• Maintain current knowledge of technological advances in the field.
