Job Summary

An Education Specialist (Mild Moderate) is responsible for providing instruction within a classroom environment to students with mild/ moderate disabilities, fulfilling all case management responsibilities, and overseeing Behavioral Interventionists working within their classroom. This position reports to the Director, essential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing instruction in small group or 1:1 settings to students with disabilities; Choosing and implementing a variety of instructional curriculums designed for students with mild/moderate disabilities; Creating and overseeing all student and Behavioral Interventionists schedules; Demonstrating skill in working with students in a positive, supportive manner; Training and overseeing a team of Behavioral Interventionists implementing educational and behavioral programs; Creating and implementing student IEPs; Collaborating with other providers including other Education Specialists, OT, SLP, District Case Managers, and Director; Creating and maintaining a safe classroom environment; Completing required assessments, progress reports, and Literacy First Academy documentation; Attending and presenting IEP meetings; Setting up, maintaining, and analyzing student electronic data systems; and Responsible for communication with parents and guardians.
