About the Employer
We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. Antioch is known as the “Gateway to the Delta” and is one of California’s oldest cities, with a diverse community of approximately 100,000. The Antioch Unified School District is a Merit System District. As such, final selection of our classified staff members will be made from candidates who have been placed on an eligibility list. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screening/scoring of a candidate’s training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, lead and participate in a variety of custodial activities during an assigned shift to assure high school buildings and adjacent grounds areas are maintained in a clean, orderly, safe and secure condition; train and provide work direction and guidance to assigned personnel. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and four years of experience performing custodial activities. OTHER REQUIREMENT: All offers of employment are conditional upon the applicant’s satisfactory results of the Post Offer, Pre-Placement Physical Evaluation Program (PEP).

SELECTION & EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of a competitive application & supplemental screening for qualifications and experience. A pass/fail score on the supplemental questions and an oral panel/performance interview (weighted 100% of score) will be conducted. If your application is accepted to move forward, you will be notified via U.S. mail and/or email of the date, time, and location of the exam. A passing score must be achieved on both the supplemental application and oral interview exam. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores on the eligibility list.
