About the Employer
The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic educator to serve as Administrator, Educational Services for the MTSS team. This team provides support related to CA MTSS implementation, Universal Design for Learning, Social Emotional Learning Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, Academic Interventions, Inclusive Instruction and Restorative Practices. The Administrator, Educational Services will support the state grant work for CA MTSS through coaching, consultation and technical assistance for awardees. The selected candidate will also manage, supervise, plan, and coordinate the activities and operations of the MTSS team within Educational Services; coordinate assigned activities with other units, divisions, outside agencies, and the general public; and provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the program Director in the areas of content creation, budgetary oversight, grant leadership, and contracts. In addition, this position fulfills the co-lead role for several grants including CAL HOPE Project and the Rightful Presence national grant with the University of Kansas/SWIFT and another grant currently in development for inclusive practices.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: * Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in education, education administration, behavior management or a related field. * Five (5) years of increasingly responsible educational experience including two years of administrative service in a public school setting. * A valid California credential authorizing instruction or service in a public school program. * A valid California Administrative Credential.
