High School Social Sciences Teacher Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic High School, Temecula Starting range of salary $45,000 - $50,000+ based on experience POSITION SUMMARY: Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic High School, Temecula is seeking a qualified candidate to teach Honors World History, US History, US Government, Economics, and an elective class, Law and Justice, to high school age students within a faith environment. Preferred candidates have a Masters in a related field or a Bachelors in a science related field with a teaching credential. Applicants are to: plan curriculum and labs, assess students for understanding, and engage students in project-based and hands-on learning models. Students participate in County History Day competition, the Chapman Holocaust Competition, and in Catholic Youth Advocacy Day in Sacramento. Students are highly motivated and rise to a challenge. DUTIES OF THE TEACHER: A. The Teacher recognizes that Catholic schools and Catholic education are vital participants in the apostolic teaching ministry of the Roman Catholic Church and agrees to give Christian witness in his/her personal as well as professional life. B. The Teacher acknowledges and understands that the Teacher is an extension of the ministry of the Roman Catholic Church and the Sisters of Company of Mary, and that the Teacher plays an important role in fulfilling and delivering the loving, healing, and caring mission of Christ. The Teacher understands and acknowledges that the Teacher performs ministerial functions in connection with the Teacher’s job duties. C. The Teacher further understands and acknowledges that the Teacher’s failure to conduct himself or herself in a manner that is compatible with the teachings and mission of the Roman Catholic Church and The Order of the Company of Mary Our Lady may lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
