The District is the fiscal agent for the Community Economic Resilience Fund (CERF) grant. This position is planned as part of the grant funding to assist with process of payments and other fiscal related activities to support the grant. Funding for this position ends in September of 2024

General Description:
Under limited supervision, performs diverse and complex financial responsibilities with a greater degree of independence than an Accounting Technician I; performs a variety of complex specialized accounting functions requiring independent judgment and specialized accounting skills.
Examples of Duties
Essential Functions:
• Assists auditors by providing requested supporting documentation, information on internal processes, and coordinating activities in support of the audit process• Assists in providing necessary accounting procedures to provide internal financial controls and ensuring compliance with established accounting practices and all applicable regulatory requirements• Assists with banking, treasury related functions for the purpose of ensuring compliance and the implementation of necessary accounting processes• Collaborates in the monitoring of account balances and related financial activity, ensuring that allocations are accurate, related revenues are generated, expenses are within budget limits, and fiscal practices are followed• Collaborates with other staff, site personnel and a variety of outside parties• Compiles a variety of financial information related to work assignments• Maintains a variety of complex financial information, files and records, and ensures the availability of documentation and compliance with established accounting practices and regulatory requirements• Participates in unit meetings, in-service training and workshops• Maintains financial records related to District assets and depreciation• Performs a variety of financial operations related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, balancing and closing of financial data, reconciliations, monitoring cash balances, performing bank transfers and wires, and reviewing bank analysis statements• Prepares, verifies and maintains documents for various mandated year end reporting requirements• Processes a variety of financial information for the purpose of updating and distributing information, authorizing for action and complying with established accounting practices• Researches discrepancies of financial information and documentation to ensure the accuracy and adherence to established procedures• Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources in the process of facilitating communication, providing guidance among several parties, and providing information and/or referral for addressing inquiry• Other related duties as assigned
Knowledge of:
• Methods, practices, and terminology used in financial record keeping• Record keeping principles applicable to school district accounting• Modern office practices, procedures, computer hardware and software and office machines
Ability to:
• Create and maintain Microsoft Excel spreadsheet reports• Communicate effectively with federal/state/county personnel• Make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately• Operate a computer, calculators and other office equipment• Set up and maintain records• Prepare and analyze financial reports and statements• Follow oral and written directions• Work cooperatively with others• Maintains confidentiality• Promote and incorporate culturally affirming DEIA and anti-racist principles to nurture and create a respectful, inclusive, and equitable learning and work environment. Typical Qualifications
Required:
• High school diploma OR GED AND (3) years applicable experience OR• Associate's degree OR• The equivalent education and experience• Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students

Interview Information:
Those applicants deemed highly qualified for the position will be invited to appear for oral interviews before a screening committee. A limited number of candidates will be invited to interviews. Interviews will be scheduled on site.
Employee Benefits:Permanent part-time employees receive paid holidays as well as prorated vacation and sick leave. While permanent part-time employees are not eligible for health/vision/dental care coverage or group life insurance, the District does offer an optional supplemental benefits suite.
