GENERAL DESCRIPTION Under supervision, serve as an assistant to teachers in the supervision and education of students; assist in the preparation of teaching materials; and perform all other related work as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

Instructional Assistants/Paraeducators, whether general education or special education, are required by law to be able to demonstrate knowledge of, and the ability to assist with, instruction, reading/language arts, and mathematics, either by possessing an Associate’s Degree or higher, 48 semester college units, or passing a minimum proficiency exam.
