Job Summary
Natomas Unified School District is seeking a Director who will focus on overseeing the After School Safety and Education (ASES) program, Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P), and Summer Programs. This position is responsible for managing and implementing ELO-P after-school programs (called “LEAP Academy” in NUSD), ASES/ELO-P comprehensive (combined) programs, intersession programs, including winter, spring, and summer. These programs are in accordance with ASES and 21st CCLC funding requirements in accordance with Education Code 8482-8484.65, and prioritizing unduplicated pupils in accordance with Education Code 46120 for Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P). The Director’s responsibilities include: *Developing partnerships between NUSD, community-based partners, enrichment providers, and specialty vendors to provide high-quality, inquiry-based, hands-on opportunities *Providing all scholars equitable access to enriching and meaningful programs in a safe learning environment to deepen scholar understanding, build 21st-century skills, and enhance their confidence *Ensuring that all program activities are in alignment with the ASES program plan, NUSD’s ELO-P plan and the NUSD vision. Additional responsibilities include planning, organizing, and implementing professional development for program staff and volunteers and presenting board reports as needed. This Director works closely with the assigned supervisor and collaboratively with district departments and school administrators to support the implementation of the after-school, intersessions, and summer programs. The work day and calendar will be built with the supervisor to ensure coverage outside the regular school year. This responsibility will be shared among multiple leaders. Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities could qualify someone for this position. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in education, education administration, public administration or a related field. Administrative Services Credential and appropriate California Teaching Credential are preferred. Experience: Minimum five years of increasing responsibility and experience in related field, including two years of supervisory or administrative responsibility, preferably in a public school system. Experience should demonstrate innovative leadership and vision. Administrative experience in K-12 setting preferred, managing programs, supervising staff, collaborating with community and business partners, providing oversight of health and safety, and aligning resources and services in education settings. LICENSES & CERTIFICATES • Valid California Administrative Services Credential preferred • Valid California driver's license
