Job Summary

Under general supervision, to perform skilled electrical and related work in the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical service and systems, lighting systems, electrical components, electrically powered equipment, and manual and automated lighting control systems; to design and modify electrical circuitry; to perform skilled, semiskilled, and unskilled work in other building trades, as assigned; and to perform related work as required.

Requirements / Qualifications

Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and supplemented by specialized training in electrical theory and practice, which demonstrates possession of the knowledge's and abilities stated above, and the ability to perform the duties of the position. A typical qualifying entrance background is at least one year of journey-level experience performing institutional or commercial electrical service and systems construction, installation, modification, repair and maintenance work; and completion of an accredited technical school in electrical theory and practices related to building construction and facilities and equipment maintenance and repair, or a formal four year apprenticeship in theory and practices of the building and facilities electrical trade, or four years of on the job training in electrical theory and practices of the trade. Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's license. Possession of roto hammer and hilti gun certification, which may be obtained during the first four months of employment.
