SUMMARY Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, the Director of Human Resources plans and directs specific functions of the department including the Beginning Teacher Support & Assessment (BTSA) program, data management, and compliance with employee contracts and board policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Oversee the Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA) program including the coordination of articulation meetings, training, and communication regarding the BTSA support providers and participants. Monitor the Induction Credential Program requirements and the coordination and annual review of the BTSA program. Manage the data integrity of the Human Resources information systems. Provide administrative and technical staff assistance to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. Assist in the development, planning and implementation of programs and policies related to human resources activities; recommend and administer policies and procedures. Conduct studies and analyses. Serve as a resource for information relative to human resources practices; counsel with employees regarding employee issues. Oversee and direct the placement of student teachers and interns. Determine and develop the content for and maintain the Human Resources website. Participate in the implementation of collective bargaining contracts. May serve as a member of the negotiation team. Direct and evaluate the performance of assigned staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Possession of, or ability to obtain, a California Administrative Services credential, or equivalent, authorizing administrative services. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; sufficient other training and experience as an educational administrator; professional Human Resource management experience is desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, Government code, Education code, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from parents, students, employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply principles of logical and creative thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS California Administrative Credential desirable.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Familiarity with Government Code, Education Code, Board Policy and state and federal regulations governing the administration of Human Resources management in an educational institution. Working knowledge of Microsoft software.
