About the Employer
The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. OCDE’s Information Technology (IT) Division is making a difference in Orange County schools by providing services and leveraging technology to simplify, enhance, and provide innovative business and educational solutions. The IT Division is committed to providing creative and collaborative ideas tailored to each district's specific needs. We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and committed individual to serve as Applications Analyst, which will provide support for internally developed business applications and other technology solutions. The Applications Analyst will coordinate and collaborate with technical teams to identify and facilitate problem resolutions with functional and technical groups. This position will provide quality control, assurance testing, second tier support, problem solving, updates of data, and utilities using TSQL/stored procedures for internally developed business applications and other software. The selected candidate will also provide implementation and support of workflow and imaging software, reporting tools, web content management software, Listserv, and support IT’s regulatory and compliance activities.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in business and computer related fields. Three years: Supporting business applications (ERP systems including Finance, Payroll, Human Resources and Time Attendance). Implementing and supporting document management and workflow solutions. Utilizing decision support tools such as Crystal Reports and Web Intelligence, Tableau, and Microsoft Excel.
