Requirements / Qualifications
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The job of Administrator, Center for Teacher Preparation (CTP) BCLAD or equivalent is for the purpose(s) of providing administrative services to the School of Education’s teaching credential programs including writing and managing the Bilingual Authorization Program (BILA) program as well as the Reading and Literacy Added Authorization (RLAA) Credential. In addition to managing the added authorizations, the administrator will lead the support of the School of Education’s teacher candidates in successfully meeting their statutory requirements. The administrator will collaborate closely with other members of the School of Education team, teacher candidates, and local districts. The position is designated as a certificated management position and is a part of the Management Leadership Team.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five (5) years of successful public school teaching experience is required. Involvement in demonstrating leadership and utilization of required knowledge, skills, and abilities in performing job-related duties and responsibilities is required. A minimum of three (3) years of successful school site administrative leadership is required. Administrative or supervisory experience in a bilingual or teacher preparation program that would demonstrate exposure to and utilization of required skills, knowledge, and abilities in performing job-related duties and responsibilities is preferred. REQUIRED EDUCATION: A Master’s degree from an accredited College/University in Education or a related field is required along with a CLAD/BCLAD Certificate (CL-628b) or equivalent. Multiple Subject teaching experience is preferred. A Doctorate degree is preferred. CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: -Possession of a valid California Multiple Subject and CLAD/BCLAD or equivalent Authorization -Possession of a valid California Administrative Services Credential or Administrative Certificate of Eligibility appropriate for K-12 public school administration -Valid California Driver’s License You must provide copies of permit/credential as required for position or provide evidence of qualifying for required permit/credential with your application materials to qualify for the position.
