Job Summary
The Early Literacy Specialist is responsible for training, coaching, and supporting schools, districts and early learning programs in all aspects related to early literacy. The Program Specialist will support the development and delivery of professional learning, programmatic guidance, specialized projects, and educational events to improve Preschool – 3rd grade (P-3) initiatives and outcomes related to early literacy. The Early Literacy Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development and facilitation of projects, partnerships, and resources to improve access, equity, and outcomes in early literacy. This position also fosters positive relationships and connections with the community, schools, districts, families, partners, and advisory groups to improve early literacy outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a valid California Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential; • Possession of a valid California Administrative Services credential or Certificate of Eligibility in Administrative Services; • Five (5) years professional teaching experience in a preschool and/or elementary school setting; • Two (2) years leadership experience in project development at the school, district, or community level; • One (1) year experience developing and /or facilitating professional learning and/or coaching; • Experience utilizing instructional technology and/or digital tools;
