Job Summary
A Health Care Specialists is to assist teachers by caring for handicapped students' physical needs and helping in their training and educational needs through the presentation of educational material or exercises. Employees in this classification receive general to direct supervision from a certificated teacher and/or school site administrator within a well-defined framework of policies and procedures. This job classification will perform a variety of duties dealing with the health and safety of handicapped students and requires a high degree of positive contact with both students and certificated staff. This position is located at Lincoln Jr. High School.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: • Graduation from high school or equivalent. • Any requirements established by California law. • Must successfully complete the Instructional Aide Proficiency Test and Health Care Specialist Test as required by state law. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice as well as a physical clearance are conditions of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
In addition to submitting the certificated application, qualified candidates should upload:
- Copy of Transcript (48 semester units of college coursework) OR Paraprofessional Testing (Paraprofessional testing available at TCSD District Office by appointment.)
